About Me

My name is Mahzuza Rahaman. I was born in Miami, Florida, but have lived in Atlanta for a majority of my life. I am an Agnes Scott student and am a part of the Red class of 2022. As a child growing up in a Bengali household, the stereotype was that I was expected to become a doctor, engineer, lawyer, etc. In high school I was told to follow whatever I like doing, but was then put into classes because there was no room in the other classes that I had wanted. At Agnes Scott, I decided on a dual degree engineering major, where I am majoring in psychology as well as engineering.  Psychology is an interest of mine because I love to see how the mind works. It is fascinating to see how something, which we do not think about every day, our minds, is something which is so complicated. I am a dual degree engineering major because I like to do things hands-on. I believe that when I do things hands on, it allows me to experience how it is possible to physically change the world. We are always told that we make a difference in the world, no matter how small our actions are, but by doing something hands on or active, we can see the differences that we make unfold before our very eyes.
