In this chapter, Achor describes how humans are very lazy in nature, although they might not want to be, but it is a habit which is difficult to break. I have been trying to start doing something “starting tomorrow” for about a year now. Whether it is working out or eating healthier, I always use the excuse that I am too busy and I will start doing it tomorrow, but “tomorrow” never comes. Achor talks about how it is easier to fall into the routine that you already do rather than something else that you might have planned to do. In order to break this bad habit, and do the activities that you have planned, you have to take some time to actually plan it through and take steps toward it. This planning can be done by the 20 second rule. The 20 second rule is adding 20 second throughout your day in order to gain back more time in your day. I believe that I can do this by planning my day the day before. In addition to this, I have to take the extra step to write down what I want to do in my planner in my room, or even set alarms or reminders in order to urge me along to do the things which I had planned.
